Feral Pigs

Feral pigs live throughout the state and can be considered a nuisance or a treasure. Pigs use their unique snouts to root in the ground for insects, grubs, bulbs and roots. Because a pig does not sweat you may find they enjoying a wallow in the mud to keep cool.


Horses are a solid-hoofed herbivorous mammal used as a beast of burden, a draft animal, or for riding. Whether under saddle or pulling a cart horses have been by our side through the ages.


Another solid-hoofed herbivorous mammal, the donkey can be a work animal, pulling carts or turning grinding wheels, or be our pet.


A true miniature, the zebu cattle are characterized by a fatty hump on their shoulders, a large dewlap and sometimes drooping ear.


Sheep are ruminant mammals typically kept as livestock enjoying pasture grass.


Deer are the ruminant mammals that enjoy a habitat of grasses, other browse and fresh water.
