Other Ways to Help

Your donation to the Friends of the Folsom Zoo, Inc. will work wonders. The animals and Zoo Crew will appreciate your generosity. But money isn’t everything. Individuals, firms and organizations often donate needed services, building materials, things for special events – and more.

Before your next garage sale or just because you care! Review the list below and if you come across any of these items in useable condition please drop it by the front gate… Your Friends will appreciate it!!

  • Children's story books.
  • Animal and Nature videos.
  • Animal carriers, plastic, metal (used is fine), or cardboard (new only), any size.
  • Dish soap, household bleach, and laundry detergent, all perfume free.
  • Large "industrial" square plastic food containers, one gallon and up.
  • Scrub brushes and sponges.
  • Powerful flashlights with spare batteries.
  • Whole nuts, fresh and unsalted.
  • Peanut butter, no sugar or salt.
  • Jams or jellies, 100% fruit.
  • Fresh beef femur bones.
  • Dixie bathroom cups, paper.
  • Heating pads.
  • Towels, in good condition.
  • Latex exam gloves.
  • Plastic dish tubs.
  • Stainless steel feeding dishes.
  • Rabbit water bottles.
  • Misters, shade cloth, bamboo shades.
  • Radiant heat lamps.
  • Heavy duty hand truck.
  • Heavy duty hoses.
  • California Flex-rakes, any size.
  • Astroturf door mats, for re-covering eagle and hawk perches.
  • Blankets, pillow cases (flannel for the bats) and sheets, no lace, no electric blankets (the wires are trouble).
  • "Ferret" Boomer balls (have big holes in them, great for all sizes of animals for enrichment).
