The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is a great way to spend the day and getting here is easy!

Zoo Hours

The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is open each week unless it is a major holiday. (See the list of holidays to the right.)

  • Days open: Thursday through Sunday
  • Fall/Winter Hours of Operation

    (October 1 through April 30): 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Last admission is at 3:30 p.m.; grounds open until 4 p.m.

  • Spring/Summer Hours of Operation

    (May 1 through September 30): 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Last admission is at 2:30 p.m.; grounds open until 3 p.m.

Zoo Information

  • Admission for NON-MEMBERS: Save time by purchasing tickets online in advance. Tickets are also available for purchase at the gate. Tickets are good for the day.
  • Friends members DO NOT need to purchase tickets. Just show your digital Zoo Membership Card at the Ticket Booth. All members over 12 years old need to show their membership card.
  • Tickets are $7 per person for ages 2 and older. Ages under 2 years are free (no ticket required).
  • The Zoo Sanctuary Gift Shop is open from 10:30am to 3:30pm.
  • Fisher's Bistro is open limited hours.
  • Friends of the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary Members receive FREE admission with an annual Membership for you or your family! (Does not apply to guided tours, group visits, or special fundraising events.) All members over 12 years old need to show their digital or hard copy membership card.

FAQ

Group Tours and Docent led tours are currently not available.

Service animals are welcomed and permitted in accordance with the Americans for Disabilities Act (ADA).

The full text of the ADA Service Animal Policy is available upon request by contacting City of Folsom Animal Services at 916-461-6040.

No pets or emotional support animals are allowed in Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary or City of Folsom facilities.

Directions from Hwy 50

  1. Exit at Folsom Blvd;
  2. Turn left at the off ramp intersection. Follow for 3 miles;
  3. Turn right at the traffic light onto Natoma Street. Follow for about 1 mile;
  4. Turn left at the traffic light onto Stafford Street; and
  5. Turn right into the Zoo entrance past the library.

Directions from I-80

  1. Exit at Douglas Blvd. heading East. Follow Douglas Blvd. for 4 miles;
  2. Turn Right onto Folsom-Auburn Road. Follow for about 4 miles;
  3. Turn Left to go over new Folsom Crossings Bridge.
  4. Turn Right at the traffic light onto Natoma Street. Follow for about 1 mile;
  5. Turn Right at the traffic light onto Stafford Street, past Folsom City Hall; and
  6. Turn right into the Zoo entrance past the library.
