Rentals

Rentals range from an intimate morning breakfast with your special group of friends to a gala event encompassing the entire zoo for your guests to enjoy. Please review the rental categories below to see which option is right for your occasion.

Birthday Parties

Celebrate a special birthday at the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary! Join us at the zoo sanctuary to create lasting memories for your child with a party held on the Canid Deck. The deck provides a nice open area for your party with great views of the wolf-hybrids and deer.

Parties include: Admission for up to 30 guests (up to 10 additional guests $7/each), patio rental for two hours, tables and chairs, and an coloring activity. You provide your own food, drinks, utensils, and decorations. Our party host will present a 15-minute animal talk to introduce party guests to a special new friend. The party host will share fun information about the animal and answer questions (animal presentation varies depending on availability and weather).

  • Canid Patio Capacity: 40
  • Cost: $349 for 2 hours – Payment is due at time of booking.
  • Amenities: Gift Shop, playground nearby, restroom nearby
  • Available: Saturday and Sunday (except in December) with a minimum of 2 weeks (14 days) advance notice.
  • Note: Balloons, confetti, music, and alcohol are not permitted inside the zoo sanctuary. Parties will be relocated to the Barnyard Experience if it is raining.

Yes, you may bring in decorations. Please not that balloons, confetti, music, and alcohol are not permitted inside the zoo sanctuary.

Yes, you may bring food into the zoo sanctuary. No glass or alcohol is permitted. Our animals have specific diets and nutritional needs, and we request that you please not feed them.

We have a few options if it rains on your party date. You can choose to have the party despite the rain, in which case we may be able to move the party to the Barn under a solid roof. If given advance notice, we can reschedule the party to a different date, or you may cancel the party.

We will take a tally as your guests arrive, so you can pay for any extra guests near the end of the party.

If you have more than 30 guests, the price is $7 additional per person.  Keep in mind that children under age two are free, and the venue capacity is 40 guests.

 

Parties are available only on weekends and during either a morning or afternoon timeslot.

If you need to cancel your party, we require at least 7 days notice to refund the full party price.

You can arrive up to a half hour before your party to begin setting up decorations.

We ask that you pay the full amount as soon as possible so that you are ensured the date and time of your choosing.

Breakfast with the Bears

Enjoy a private rental on the bear deck in the morning before the Zoo Sanctuary opens to the public. You supply breakfast for your group, and we provide breakfast for our bears.

The deck provides you with a close-up view of the bear exhibits, so you and your guests can enjoy watching them forage for their breakfast. Rental includes a bear biofact table where our wonderful volunteer docents will share fun facts and answer questions about some of the zoo sanctuary animals.

  • Bear Deck Capacity: 20
  • Cost: $349 for 90 minutes
  • Amenities: Gift Shop, playground nearby, restroom nearby
  • Event Types: club gatherings, corporate meetings, birthday parties
  • Availability: Breakfast with the Bears is available Saturdays and Sundays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the months of October through April, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the months of May through September by advance reservations.

Facility Rental

Make your event a unique and special occasion by renting the zoo!

Searching for the perfect event venue? Treat your employees and their family members to a fun evening at the zoo sanctuary. Say, “I do,” in the zoo sanctuary to create a memorable exchange of vows, or host a community fundraiser.

Depending on your group size, our staff can create a variety of animal activities to make your visit even more exciting. You can include a private tour, provide enrichment to the animals, participate in a training session, and meet some of our animal residents up close!

  • Facility Capacity: 400
  • Cost: $949 for 2-hour minimum rental of the entire zoo sanctuary (during non-public hours). $300 per additional hour over the 2-hour minimum. Clean-up must be completed during the rental time; additional time will be charged if not cleaned up within the rental time period. Includes admission for 100 guests; extra guests $15/person.
  • Amenities: Playground and restroom nearby
  • Event Types: Corporate gatherings, Family reunions, School groups, Weddings, Fundraisers
  • Available: Year-round after hours. Summer from 3:30 to 7 p.m., fall/winter/spring from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

Barnyard Experience Rental

Make your event a unique and special occasion by renting the zoo!

Depending on your group size, our staff can create a variety of animal activities to make your visit even more exciting. You can include a private tour, provide enrichment to the animals, participate in a training session, and meet some of our animal residents up close!

  • Facility Capacity: 100
  • Cost: $649 for 2-hour minimum rental of the barnyard experience (during non-public hours). $100 per additional hour over the 2-hour minimum. Clean-up must be completed during the rental time; additional time will be charged if not cleaned up within the rental time period. Includes admission for 50 guests to the barn - no zoo entry options; extra guests $10/person.
  • Amenities: Playground and restroom nearby
  • Event Types: Corporate gatherings, Family reunions, School groups, Weddings, Fundraisers
  • Available: Year-round after hours. Summer from 3:30 to 7 p.m., fall/winter/spring from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
